All about Corcovado One Day Tour (El Tigre)
Dos Brazos de Río Tigre is a small town completely immerse in the forest. This place has a long history of gold-digging and hunting, but, thanks to ecotourism and community efforts, its inhabitants see a promising future. By visiting El Tigre you will support a local association with a direct impact on the community.
The hike begins in the town's communal center, right next to the school. You hike a total of 8 Km through primary forest and very irregular terrain. This is a tough hike recommended for experienced hikers.
The treat during this hike is a look-out point where you can enjoy the spectacular view of the Golfo Dulce.
You can choose if you want to include transport or if you want to use your own car (it's not necessary to have a 4x4 car, a regular 4x2 or automobile can get you there).

5:00-7:00 a.m. Meet with the guide at the bamboo building in Dos Brazos de Rio Tigre.*
7:30 a.m. Start hiking up the "Rompe Pechos".
10:00 a.m. Arrival to the look-out.
11:30 a.m. Break for Lunch (not included).
12:00-2:00 p.m. Arrival at El Tigre. End of the tour.

The town of gold, historically inhabited by poachers and gold diggers, is now an example of a successful community-driven eco-tourism initiative. ACODOBRARTI, the local association operates all tours in the area.
Important Note: All Corcovado tours need to wait for our confirmation. This confirmation can only happen until six months before the tour's initial date. Overnight and day tours run with a minimum of 2 participants. If you're a solo traveler we'll keep you informed.
